Restarting

Exercise to Prime the Painting Pump
Robyn Not

After a week of being unable to get into the studio to work, I had no idea where to begin. I opened a book I got recently, Acrylic Painting with Passion, by Tesia Blackburn, and did one of her suggested exercises, a blind contour drawing of a still life, and got the old pump going again. Then I worked on one of the paintings of Robyn I started months ago. Yesterday I put in the squiggly lines in the background. Today I worked on the face, hair and bird, and then I put in the raised dots on her scarf (or whatever she was holding up at the time she took the photo). I really enjoyed this work.
