Live Oak Arches

Sunset Boulevard in Houston ... this is the West University neighborhood, one of the most charming areas of the city. Our street could look this way in maybe twenty years. Live oaks grow incredibly fast here.

Bluejay from B Squared

Botz sent me this bluejay ornament ... I had told her that "I see dead people" as bluejays. My departed loved ones' spirits come to me and insist on letting me know they are doing well. For whatever reason, they appear as bluejays, which I love anyway.

LOVE this gift! Thank you Botz, very very thoughtful gift.

That FACE!

Bear had his first grooming today, and he looks as charming as ever, but with VISIBLE EYES. He is learning to be a polite dog. If he is walked in the morning briskly, he settles in and behaves himself rather nicely. Good thing, or he would be going back to the SPCA!

Osprey Therian Posters at Mysterio Gallery

Yesterday I had an opening at Mysterio Gallery for Osprey's posters from the past year, mostly from her photography contests. The people who attended were a great crowd, said Osprey. I responded they are your friends! Of COURSE they are a great crowd!
Candide wore his odd beige prim costume, Vlad was in his brassy reflective look wearing some western motif outfit. Someone fairly new attended, whose feet were ultra large. He said he modeled his avatar on his real life look, so I asked him if he had GIGANTIC feet in real life. He said no, he had to do a bit more work on his avatar.
The posters are all beautiful, of course; Osprey is a genius with images and type.

The User Interface!

In Second Life, there are all sorts of settings to explore, and Osprey explores them thoroughly. The four images here are done using different settings. Normally, this would look like a victorian house with pictures on the walls. Osprey is wearing a "jackalope" costume made of primitives, the basic building blocks of SL. That is why she looks like a yellow stack of blocks with hot pink blocks on her head. The other images show different options I chose.

Dream of Steve

Steve came back into physical form in my dream last night. I had gone to sleep thinking of him, and lo and behold ... in the dream, Steve, Pat and I sat around and talked and laughed. I said, "Wow, you can still do this?" He said, "Not for much longer." I meant visit us here in this plane of existence. In my belief system, those who have died may only linger near this earthly plane for a few months, then they must go on to their adventures between incarnations, and finally find their way to their new lives.

Tonight Kirk (Steve's son) called and offered us a couple of the movies Steve had collected. We use the DVR and do not really watch our own DVDs, so we said no. I asked Kirk if it was difficult for them, and he said it was. Steve loved his movies.
