Thanks for posting this account of Eddie’s. It's very disturbing. I had no idea that he would be affected in such a way when I asked him to look into the recent Rodeo Incident. I wonder if this is related at all to HeadBurro’s transformation years ago in the forest. It brings back memories of my own experience in 2004 after the chemical spill in Miramare, Nova Albion. (Although Eddie's snuck up on him, while my experience was more painful, like HeadBurro’s.) It was rather stormy in Kahruvel after the incident, but has cleared up now. The fog does roll in on occasion. I suppose caution is in order. Are any other similar stories out there? I wonder, is Eddie's transformation related to the fog directly? If so, could one would be protected from its’ effect using that suit we used when we first visited Nautilus City?
He definitely looks older now. I wonder if he was affected by some sort of extreme time dilation? Strange, this reminds me a bit of Grandma and Grandpa Baysklef’s stories about the Sea of Eternal Torment where Nautilus City was eventually revealed. A permanent storm and never-lifting fog was characteristic of that area before the Lindens’ gridded it and Magellan eventually broke through the barrier there.
Good heavens! Sal's right, that is the place where I stopped being human and became fused my my animal spirit! In Ed's case I wonder if some sort of time dilation hot-spot is to blame? Maybe a gateway bewteen worlds (or times!) opened up in the fog and this could explain where the Rodeo artifacts have gone to - fallen through to another world! If so, Ed's lucky he got back!
I think I may have visited that other dimension briefly, but my memory was blasted out on re-entry, sorry dudes.
Wow... how bizarre! It sounds like some sort of ancient force or unstable energy 'broke through' there both times! I wonder if it's trying to break through permanently and reclaim the region? It'd be helpful if we knew what the ancient races used the two groups of standing stones for... that might be a clue as to what's still lingering in the area, causing these incidents. Hmm, if we set up a stargate in the area, I wonder if it would trigger anything?
@Ilianexsi - Well.. there IS a stargate in the area, as you know, half-buried at the edge of that small isle where the obelisk was. Douglas Quinn uncovered that back in October of 2007, I think. That may have played a role in the recent incidents. But I know what mean, that we should place a stargate at one of the locations where there were circles of stone and see if something happens. I'd like to wait until the Trust finishes it's initial investigation into the Rodeo Incident before we start any such experiments.
