Taliesin West

The Frank Lloyd Wright house Taliesin West, in Scottsdale, Arizona (next to Phoenix) is quite beautiful. It was designed for wintering in Arizona, and it has some deteriorating parts because the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has very little income. Nevertheless, it is interesting and well worth touring.

He used immediately available materials consistently throughout his career, so the stones are from the surrounding desert, collected by the architecture students at the time, and the walls are built by them as well.

Currently, there is a Masters program in Architecture conducted on the site; the students have moved to Taliesin in Wisconsin for the summer.
